DENIED. Grievance concerns tuition reimbursement for a class not taken during the evening or weekend. The Grievant is seeking her Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, to aid her in her present duties with BWC. Her application for reimbursement was disapproved by the Training Committee because they don't approve release time. The Union argued that Section 23.02 requires the agency to reimburse for attendance at work-related courses, as long as funds are available. The arbitrator held that the evening and weekends policy does not conflict with section 23.02.
