Grievance DENIED. This consolidated arbitration proceeding involved the 6-day suspension and subsequent termination of Grievant, for excessive tardiness. In the first grievance, a 6-day suspension modified the original termination due to Grievant's participation in an EAP program, and was upheld. In the second grievance, Grievant was terminated after unexcused absences continued following his suspension. This grievance was also denied. The Arbitrator found the work rule for sign-in reasonable, that Grievant had notice, and that given the first suspension, Grievant should have gone to extra lengths to be punctual.
