Grievance Information Detail

GRANTED: Grievant was given a 10-day suspension for workplace violence issues and for not being available for an investigatory interview while out on paid administrative leave. Union argues that employees who turned in written statements were not threatened or intimidated individually. The grievant was available when called upon, but was just in the shower. Finally, Mgmt. cited the "just cause" found in the Pre-D although the recommendation in the Pre-D was just for the grievant to be moved from her location. Remedy sought: To be made whole Recommendation: Try to settle to a 5-day at mediation, but get something on the books. Otherwise, I take to arbitration. Meredith A.
