Grievance MODIFIED. The Grievant was removed for dishonesty and failure to cooperate in an official investigation following an incident in which the Grievant claims to have been injured while participating in self-defense training. The Grievant was seen bowling several times thereafter but lied about bowling when questioned by superiors and a doctor. The Arbitrator did not think that this incident rose to the level of removal because no fraud with workers' comp was involved and there was no connection to prisoners or the conduct of other employees. The Arbitrator ordered Grievant reinstated without backpay.
