AWARD: 0416 Grievant was a 10 year employee of DOC. On a Tuesday morning, Grievantì called in to ask her supervisor for permission to take a sick child to theì doctor. Permission was granted. Grievant did not show up to work until theì next Monday morning. The Grievant's husband called in on Wednesday morningì and told the supervisor that the Grievant could not come into work and couldì not come to the phone. When Grievant returned to work on Monday, she toldì her supervisor that she had been held against her will by her husband's drugì supplier. When the husband paid money he owed to the supplier she wasì released. The Supervisor testified that she did not believe the Grievant's story, andì since the Grievant had received prior discipline for tardiness, the Grievantì was terminated.
