AWARD: 0236 In these expedited cases, four MR/DD employees were suspended. In the Barbara Pryjda matter, the grievant was suspended for 3 days for 2 days worth of unauthorized absences. Grievant was on a sleep-inducing antidepressant; while she knew its affects, she was AWOL because she had not missed three days. Reduced to a written reprimand. In the Betty Jean Clark (G87-0852) case, a 1 day suspension for failing to clip patient's toenails was reduced to a written reprimand. In Carolyn Posey's grievance (G87-2972), a 5 day suspension was issued for an unauthorized absence. The grievance was denied because of the impact of the absence on residents, plus the grievant's past disciplinary record. In Dale Whipple's case (24-09-880406-0046-01-06), a stipulated settlement was approved.
