Grievance Information Detail
AWARD: 0028 ISSUES: Grievant made an arrest which required that an affidavit be filledì out and signed at the Prosecutor's Office during normal business hours.ì Grievant's shift ended at 6:00 a.m.. He returned to the Office at 8:30 a.m.ì and completed the necessary forms. The union argued that grievant wasì entitled to four (4) hours report-back pay since this was "unscheduled" andì "unforseen" work and since he did not go to court, but rather to theì Prosecutor's Office. The Patrol argued that his activity was a court-relatedì activity, that he was not "called to return to work", and that he should beì paid court time rather than overtime. HOLDINGS: The arbitrator found that the grievant's activities constitutedì court related activities and, as such, were covered in the contract under theì court time pay provision. Grievance was denied.
